By our senior writer: Asta Mortensen
I've been wanting to write this piece for a long time. And now I finally get to write the in-depth review of the Full Rack of 38x Dell! I, Asta Mortensen, am used to write about electronics, because I have done so for years. You have hopefully seen my articles about the Collapsible Expanding Grip Kickstand for Phone and Tablets Letter B by OWA and the LG Signature OLED77W8PUA 77-Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart OLED TV (2018) by Lg. I also did a big piece on the Samsung by Hanwha WRR-5501-28TB. So you might say I have the know-how to be writing about electronics. So naturally I was very happy when I got this product in the mail!
Introduction
I've been a fan of Dell products1 for years and I was really looking forward to finally trying the Full Rack of 38x Dell and reviewing it for you guys. I found the best deal on this site on Amazon (You can buy the Full Rack of 38x Dell here.) and I didn't hesitate a moment. So I reached for my creditcard and bought one straight away. I was glad it had free shipping and 24 hours delivery when I ordered it because I couldn't wait! When my Full Rack of 38x Dell arrived the next day I ripped open the packaging and was really happy with what I saw. As I said before I'm a huge Dell enthusiast but I can be very critical and objective too, especially when writing for my readers. :-) After testing it for about a week now I am confident that I have the authority to write this piece. So read on and I will tell you all about my findings and if you should buy this thing.
Summary
I always start my reviews about electronics with a summary, then a clear list of the pros and cons after which I'll give my rating and conclusion. So as you may have understood from the intro, I am blown away by the Full Rack of 38x Dell. Dell has really outdone itself on this one. The quality is great, and frankly; it just looks awesome. I know aesthetics aren't everything with electronics, but it just needs to be said. Of course the price I got at Amazon was and is unbeatable so make sure to check them out when you decide to buy one yourself. As I have tried many alternatives before, I really got to say they are no match for the Full Rack of 38x Dell. Just the functionalities alone beats all competitors and the durability also seems to be top notch. The customer service of Dell2 is famous for being really generous so if you ever run in to any kind of problem with their products they're always really lenient with finding a solution. Long story short; not much negative to say about the Full Rack of 38x Dell Rack PowerEdge R620 1U Servers, Xeon 2.2GHz E5-2660 v2 760 Cores, 14TB DDR3, H310, 456TB 10K SAS 2.5" Hard Drives, Rails, 2X 10GbE TOR's, 2X APC PDU's (Certified Refurbished) really. Make sure to read to the end tho because you might be in for a small surprise!
Pros
This pros list of the Full Rack of 38x Dell could be much longer, and is way longer than the conslist, but the description3 this site has will probably already say it all. Here is just a little piece: "System: Full Rack Cabinet of 38x Dell PowerEdge R620 1U Servers with Arista TORs & IPMI Switches
Processor: Per Server: 2x Intel Xeon E5-2660 V2 2.2GHz 10 Core 25MB Cache Processors
Memory: Per Server: 384GB DDR3 ECC Registered Memory (24 x 16GB)
Controller: Per Server: Dell PERC H310 6Gbps SAS/SATA RAID Controller (0 1 5 10 50)
Hard Drive Bays: Per Server: 10x 1.2TB 10K SAS 2.5" Hard Drives
Management: iDRAC7 Express Management Module
Network Ports: 2x 10GbE SFP+ and". So without further ado, this is the very much incomplete list:
- The amazing looks.
- The quality is great.
- It is everything it promises to be.
- $101104.99 is just a steal comparing to the alternatives.
- There is no brand like Dell when it comes to electronics.
- The durability is very nice, so better for the environment.
- In this price range, no other product coming out will be matching the Full Rack of 38x Dell for a long time to come.
Cons
I had a tough time thinking of cons for the Full Rack of 38x Dell. Better prices are of course always nice and I don't know if you actually need this luxurious quality4. That's a thing only you can figure out for yourself. However, the list:
- Maybe the aesthetics of the product are not your style.
- It's a premium product so chances are you don't need this abundance of quality.
- The Full Rack of 38x Dell is loved by a lot of professionals so soon everybody will probably have one.
Rating
Considering everything I wrote before you won't be surprised that I give the Full Rack of 38x Dell Rack PowerEdge R620 1U Servers, Xeon 2.2GHz E5-2660 v2 760 Cores, 14TB DDR3, H310, 456TB 10K SAS 2.5" Hard Drives, Rails, 2X 10GbE TOR's, 2X APC PDU's (Certified Refurbished) 5 stars, 10/10 an and an A++. In reviews I've read by professionals5 saying that it's just too good to be true I found that they maybe were a bit envious of the success of Dell and they just can't comprehend the awesomeness of the Full Rack of 38x Dell.
